Koyasan, a sacred place of Shingon esoteric Buddhism opened by Kobo Daishi as known as Kukai. Koya-Sanroku, which is at the foot of the mountain, has developed since the Middle Ages as a junction between the highway leading to Kyoto, the capital, and the pilgrimage route to Koyasan. We are looking forward to welcoming you with exciting activities in this place where you can feel the history and culture that people have continuously woven.

Wadaiko performance

Wadaiko (Japanese drums) experience under the guidance of a Japanese player who was introduced on a TV program. A powerful drum that echoes in your stomach. Hit it hard and blow away the stress!

Making “Sanada kabuto”(helmets used by samurai of the Sanada army) and dressing up as “Sanada gunmen”

Kudoyama town at the foot of Koyasan is the place where Sengoku warlord Yukimura Sanada spent his later years and left for the Siege of Osaka. A martial arts demonstration by a gun corps disguised as the Sanada army and a helmet-making experience for children.

Koyasan night tour

A monk from Kongobu-ji temple will guide you through the Danjo Garan and Okunoin in Koyasan. The Danjo Garan is sacred temple complex described as the center of Koyasan, which was opened by Kukai as a place for secret training in Shingon esoteric Buddhism. Okunoin is the mausoleum of Kukai, surrounded by an immense graveyard. You can experience a bit of a test of courage in the fantastic atmosphere of the night.

Crucian carp fishing with “Kishu Herazao” (traditional bamboo fishing rod)

“Kishu Herazao” has a tradition of over 100 years and is designated as a traditional craft of the country. “Kakuredani Pond” at the foot of Koyasan, which is known as the mecca of crucian carp fishing, you can try fishing under the guidance of a national traditional craftsman.

Founded in 1911, this long-established Japanese confectionery store offers one-on-one instruction from the 4th generation owner about how to make “wagashi”, for example, classic dorayaki and nerikiri, as well as exquisite fruit daifuku made with seasonal fruits.

Sightseeing flight over world heritage sites “Koyasan”, “Kumano” and “Yosino” by helicopter
