Wakayama, where the holy land “Koyasan” is located, is a major producer of fruit, and is also known as the “Fruit Kingdom Wakayama.” In addition to the nationally known mandarin oranges and plums, various kinds of fruits such as persimmons, peaches, grapes, and strawberries are produced. The Koya-Sanroku area has vast farms on the mountain slopes along the magnificent Kinokawa River. The fruit picking experience at the Koya-Sanroku in Wakayama is sure to be a memorable experience. Picking mandarin oranges

Wakayama Prefecture, where Koyasan is located, is known throughout Japan as a major producer of oranges. At the mandarin orange farm at Koya-Sanroku, you can pick seasonal sweet mandarin oranges while admiring the spectacular view that spreads along the Kinokawa River. After picking, you can eat as much as you like. After you’ve fully enjoyed yourself, we’ve prepared oranges for souvenirs.

Picking peaches

Wakayama Prefecture, where Koyasan is located, is actually the largest producer of peaches in western Japan. Wakayama peaches, a first-class brand product, are sweet and juicy. You can pick high-quality Wakayama peaches and enjoy all-you-can-eat. In addition, two peaches for souvenirs are included.

Picking strawberries

Wakayama Prefecture, also known as the fruit kingdom, is rich in strawberries. The strawberries here are house-grown, so it’s okay even on rainy days. You can pick seasonal strawberries such as Wakayama’s original variety “Marihime”, “Akihime” and “Beni Hoppe”. All-you-can-eat sweet and juicy strawberries for 60 minutes! The strawberries here are cultivated on a raised platform, so you can enjoy them in a comfortable position without bending down and getting your feet dirty. There are also direct sales, so you can buy souvenirs.

Picking “Kishu plums”

Wakayama Prefecture is the number one producer of plums in Japan. Wakayama plums, known as “Kishu plums”, are characterized by moderate acidity and fleshy fruit, and are perfect for umeboshi, plum wine, plum juice, jam, and more! The experience of picking fragrant Kishu plums is sure to leave a lasting impression. You can also take it home, so you can enjoy it at home while remembering your trip to Wakayama.

Picking grapes

The Koya-Sanroku is actually the best grape-producing area in Wakayama Prefecture. Seedless, easy-to-eat grapes such as Kyoho grapes and Pione grapes are cultivated thanks to the blessings of nature. You can experience picking large, juicy, and sweet grapes at a farm on a sunny mountain slope along the majestic Kinokawa River. Of course, you can not only eat there, but also take it home.
